New case study! Busy UK regional airport upgrade to retrofit F900 Fibrelite access covers

Fibrelite provided this regional UK airport with an upgrade for their access covers over their off-apron runway lighting pits.

Ease of access to the runway lighting pits off the apron was of paramount importance as the onsite staff has a window of approximately two minutes to effect maintenance and/or repair works between take-offs and landings, including removing and replacing the access cover.

The Fibrelite technical team created a bespoke, lightweight proposal comprised of yellow composite GRP trench access covers retrofitted directly into the existing frames minimising upheaval to the site and avoiding breaking concrete.

The easy-access solution provided by Fibrelite eliminates the need for any specialist personnel or machinery during maintenance or operation.

Black covers supplied for fitness check, actual covers purchased were yellow.
